Candidates We Support
Home Educated Candidates
We support home-educated candidates and students from across the UK and overseas. Our range of examination and tuition-based services are ideally suited to meet the needs of home-educated students of all ages and abilities. We can provide focused one-to-one tuition by a subject-specialist in Bristol and the surrounding areas, or online. Home educated students can take their exams at our private exam centre in Bristol.
School and College Based Candidates
Students who require GCSE, IGCSE or A Level exam entry to subjects not currently supported by their school or college, or students who have been excluded from school, can sit their exams with us at our private Bristol exam centre.
Distance Learning Candidates
Mature / Adult Candidates
We provide examination entry for adult students, helping candidates who are looking to secure qualifications to enhance their current or future employment or education prospects. Our services are ideally suited to students wishing to prepare for examinations while in full or part-time employment. Our flexible approach offers optional tuition services in the Bristol area and online. These are available at evenings and weekends. GCSE, IGCSE and A Level Exam entry without tuition is also available to these students.
Our services are also particularly popular with PGCE and GTP applicants who require a certain grade in English, Maths, and Science, or those who have lost their old certificates and need to show the necessary proficiency in a certain subject or subjects.
Candidates With Special Needs
We provide examination entry for students with Cognition & Learning needs including specific learning difficulties such as Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. We also support candidates with Communication & Interaction needs, such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Sensory & Physical Needs, such as Multi-Sensory Impairment (MSI), Physical Disability and Social, Mental & Emotional Needs, such as Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD).
We can assist with all aspects of the entry procedure, including advice and guidance regarding the application for Access Arrangements that we submit to JCQ or the exam board. This includes the provision of any assessment required as part of the application.
Where approved we can provide Access Arrangements for candidates; including additional examination time (typically +25%), supervised rest breaks, the use of a scribe, reader and / or word processor.
Wheelchair access is available at the centre and our other examination facilities.
