Prospective Examination Candidates

We support private candidates of all ages and abilities, from across the UK and overseas. This includes (but is not limited to) home-educated candidates, mature / adult candidates, distance learning candidates, candidates with special needs and school / college based candidates, as detailed below.

Home Educated Candidates

We support hundreds of home-educated candidates and students each year from across the UK and overseas. Our range of examination and tuition-based services are ideally suited to meet the needs of home-educated students of all ages and abilities. Whether this is in the provision of some focused one-to-one tuition provided by a subject-specialist tutor, or entry to one or more examinations, 3A Tutors Ltd can provide the perfect solution.

Mature / Adult Candidates

We provide examination entry for hundreds of adult students each year, in particular, those looking to secure qualifications to enhance their current or future employment or education prospects. Our services are ideally suited to students wishing to prepare for examinations while in full or part-time employment as our optional tuition services are available in the evening or at the weekend. Examination entry without tuition is also available to these students.

Our services are also particularly popular with PGCE and GTP applicants who require a certain grade in English, Maths, and Science, or those who have lost their old certificates and need to show the necessary proficiency in a certain subject or subjects.

Distance Learning Candidates

Students that are following a distance learning course can register at our centre for their written and oral examinations, coursework assessment, and practical endorsements. Registering with us for examinations means that distance learning students can concentrate on their course, attending only on the appropriate exam/assessment dates, and sending coursework to us by the appropriate submission date for assessment.

School and College Based Candidates

Students who require examination entry to subjects not currently supported by their school or college, or students who have been excluded from school, can sit their examinations with us.

Candidates With Special Needs

We provide examination entry for students with Cognition & Learning needs including specific learning difficulties such as Dyslexia and Dyspraxia.

We also support candidates with Communication & Interaction needs (e.g. Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)), Sensory & Physical Needs (e.g. Multi-Sensory Impairment (MSI), Physical Disability (PD)) and Social, Mental & Emotional Needs (e.g. Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Mental Health Conditions).

We can assist with all aspects of the entry procedure, including advice and guidance regarding the provision of any external assessment required as part of any application for Access Arrangements we submit to JCQ or the exam board.

Where approved we can provide Access Arrangements for candidates; including additional examination time (typically +25%), supervised rest breaks, the use of a scribe, reader, word processor etc. and access to a private examination room.

Wheelchair access is available at the centre and our other examination facilities.
