Exam anxiety affects so many of our students. Although it is understandable to feel some apprehension about upcoming exams, for some, exam anxiety can be overwhelming and stop students performing to the best of their abilities.
If you are someone dealing with exam anxiety, one of our invigilators, Sally Hare, is a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and will be running ‘Exam Anxiety Zapper’ workshops in April on Saturday mornings, in person and online. She can help you manage your anxiety during this stressful time.
What is an exam anxiety zapper workshop?
An exam anxiety zapper is an informative and fun approach to managing anxiety around exams and life in general. During the session you will find out what anxiety is, why you feel it, and most importantly … how you can manage it!
What is the aim of the session?
The aims of the session will be:
• To inform you about anxiety: what it is, and how it affects you.
• To examine how you can manage anxiety.
• To empower you to manage your anxiety.
• To give you practical tools and strategies to manage anxiety.
All of this will be achieved within a relaxed, friendly, fun environment. Sessions will be conducted in small groups.
Can you give a brief outline of the content?
The content will include different exercises, presentations, and the introduction of helpful resources.
The presentation will focus on ‘Why is an exam like a grizzly bear?’
Exercises will look at:
• How does anxiety feel for me?
• How can I manage my anxiety?
• An empowerment exercise – the Superhero.
• What will be different when I manage my anxiety?
There will also be the opportunity to ask questions at the end.
How much does it cost?
An in-person session lasts for 90 minutes and costs £25 per person. It will be held in the Pigsty Hill area of the Gloucester Road in Bristol.
An online session lasts 1 hour and costs £15 per person.
